american museum of natural history

i spent a couple hours or so checking out the silk road section. the silk road pages tell about the cities on the route and what was traded and during whiat periods in history. From Baghdad to xi'an, this exhibit tells about the cities themselves. One interesting fact I found amusing was that the city of Baghdad was known as the city of peace. considering what is happening over in that vicinity today, it is quite a contradiction. Samarkand was well known for it's fine paper and shrewd traders who traded from distant countries. before this i had never herd of Samarkand.

repositiory

last friday, 2-12-10, i spent an hour talking with christi getting introduced to the repository and finding out what my first assignment is. i am going to start off by taking some photos of artifacts in the zallio collection if i am not mistaken.

quiz 1

I took the quiz, yay for me! There is a box at the end that says "submission in progress, this quiz is being submitted". It hasn't gone away and I hope my test was sent off properly.

museum day 2010

I was only able to visit 2 of the twenty museums I wanted to on museum day but its better than nothing. the state indian museum was an easy stop for me on the way over to old sac so I stopped in. it was so busy it was hard to enjoy the museum. once I got to old sac I found it was even more busy there. there was a ten minute line for the train museum when I got over there but I decided to brave it since I went all the way over to old sac for that very reason. it was also jam packed but worth saving ten dollars or so. http://www.sacmuseums.org/museumday.html

new look

hopefully my page is a little easier to read now. i have taken the adult warning off as far as i can tell.

cotton collection

my three cotton collection objects are 6 BAS0032 74-32-2-23, 43 74-32-7, and 33 BAS0202 74-32-2-3. one of the collection pieces did not have a BAS on it. I was unable to view my objects last week due to illness. i will clean the museum for my punishment!
